Beginning Sept 18, 2009, my 26th Birthday, I will be celebrating a holiday every day for 1 year! I figure I LOVE the holidays I usually celebrate so why not celebrate something every day. I could be missing out on so much.

May 7 – International Tuba Day
“Joel Day founded International Tuba Day in 1979 while attending Lower Merion High School in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Being one of only two tuba players in the band and finding a lack of respect from his fellow classmates, he decided to set a day aside for our recognition as reputable musicians. Joel went on to study at Millersville University, where he established very popular International Tuba Day celebrations that continued for close to twenty years.”
This is a very popular holiday and is celebrated in many countries such as: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and of course the good ‘ol USA.

There is an international tuba museum/restaurant in Okemos, MI. The food is great and you should check it out sometime!
